ok, these are amazing! love the colors and (dare i say) the best example of pattern mixing i've ever seen. gah! check out karin's website for more goodies and eye candy. i really just love these, and hope they cheered you as much as they cheered me!

tumblr surprise

i was looking at one of my favorite tumblr accounts the other night and i was scrolling, scrolling, drooling, scrolling, and then screeech. what the what? my painting! i see it on pinterest a lot, and of all of the paintings i've ever posted, it definitely gets the most action, but i had never seen it on a tumblr before. hello! this lil puppy got reblogged/noted 608 times. that's probably not a lot at all, but it is to me. the good news is that i AM working on a new series of similar watercolors, available for the holidays. so, that's cool, now you don't have to think about what to get everyone. you're welcome!

p.s. because i'm crazy i looked at all the people who regrammed it and taylor sterling did and then i giggled alone in my room at 12:30 in the morning (it was a friday).

what happy art! the colors are so joyful, and i really appreciate the playful movement and energy. in a word, mia christopher is awesome.

this artist is awesome - ethan cook

i'm totally digging the works of Ethan Cook. he's based in rome (italy, not georgia), which is about all i can gather from his website, though a quick google search tells me he used to be based in new york. little paper planes wrote a post about him a few years ago, which included his own words; 

"central to my work is the idea of canvas being a material to work with, not on. through an additive and reductive process including dyeing, bleaching, painting, folding and staining, the materials become a part of the canvas' weave. the canvases are worked, dried and reworked again and again to completion."

grown up posters

aren't all these posters so cool? i stumbled on the poster club through pinterest (what else...) and i fell in love with so many! i think they would be great for a gallery wall, or for one single piece that needs to pack a punch. and the best part is, they are aren't super expensive...unless i am terribly converting euros into dollars. so, actually, don't hold me to that.

one painting | two ways

i found these two photos on pinterest, and i really like how this painting is styled in both of them. a painting/print/photo/canvas is such a cool and interesting alternative to a traditional headboard. a quick google image search (which amazes me every time...how does google know?!) revealed the name of the artist, Katie Brennan. You can buy this print from Williams-Sonoma, but Katie also has a lot of other cool artwork on her website. love finding a new artist!
